Forgot to mention about all the kids we saw at the Panda reserve. There were tons of school kids there. Each one made it a point to say HELLO In English It was so cute they are all in uniforms On sat we went back to Jimgli. St to explore during the day. We did some gift shOpping. The weather has been great. We had another huge lunch. There was a little boy there that had two live chicks in a bag and a cat walking around on the plexiGlass ceiling. From there we went to Peoples park where all the retired people dance and play crazy loud music within feet of eachother. It was STimulous overload. In the park center is a huge outdoor tea house. Several hundred people there at any given time. We got jasmine tea and were immediately approached by several massage and ear cleaners. Yes people pay for shoulder back leg massages for about 15us. For 8 they clean your ears too. We all got massages and everyone but Ruthie and I got their ears cleaned. It was a riot. Later that night we had mcdonalds for dinner and headed to a show. We saw opera, comedy, amazing hand shadowing and finally the famous chancing masks show. Amazing and fun. They served tea using pots with spouts three feet long so they could reach down the isles. One thing we saw was the living quarters of the bathroom janitor. In many places here you live where you work. For example a dishwasher may live on a cot in the restaurant kitchen. In this case a man and probably his wife lived in the bathroom closet. And most of the bathrooms are absolutely filthy. This is our last night with the group for 5 days. Mag and I head to Kunming, her orphanage city In the am. |
